ARTEM for the Davis family ? UT | Reece's Rainbow Adoption ...

Lorie has aspired to adopt or foster children since she was approximately 13 years old. Lorie and JD Davis are 10 year veterans within the Civil Affairs community of Army Reserves. During their first deployment to Iraq in 2004, the two best friends fell in love and were married May 7th, 2005, after returning home. During their deployment, Lorie, being a member of the Public Education Team, had first hand experience in helping children of a foreign nation. This experience only made her yearn to help children even stronger. In the summer of 2005, their first child, Lorelai, was born. They looked into Foster Care, but was told that they had not been married long enough to apply, as well as they prefer you not apply during pregnancy or with a small baby at, so that more attention could be placed on the Foster Child. Instead, they put their energy into becoming volunteer youth ministers of their local church at the time in Pasadena, Tx. In 2007, JD was deployed on a second tour to Iraq, while their second child, Corbyn, was only 5 months old. This tour created hardships and trials in their marriage, and through God?s grace and mercy, they became stronger and closer than ever before. In 2008 they began volunteering as ?substitute parents? for two young brothers that were living at the Boys and Girls Harbor. They would pick them up on every other weekend and some holidays, and give the boys more attention and a change of atmosphere in their lives. Months later, JD lost his job and took an Active Duty position with the Reserves, which moved them to Utah. In their first year in Utah, they had their third child, Adyson, and finally became licensed Foster Care Parents. After 6 months of waiting for a child placement, they felt God wanted Lorie and the kids to temporarily go back home to Texas and be with Family during the last few months of a family member?s life. After six months, they reunited in Utah, and shortly after became pregnant with their fourth child, Leilani. Since her birth in March, 2012 they have felt a strong urge to adopt and both of them felt the Lord possibly putting special needs children on their heart. In a weird turn of events, like only God can do, they were presented Artem around four or five times within a month. While praying for him to receive the forever family he deserves, they felt the Lord said it was them. Everyday they are overwhelmed with the many steps as well as costs of International adoption. Yet everyday, they pray to God telling him, ?you have brought us to this boy, only you can make him our son.? They appreciate any and all prayers, and if you can donate to this cause, that will help too.

Lindsay Lohan 911 Call: It's a Code 3!

As you know, paramedics were called to Lindsay Lohan's hotel room in Marina del Rey, Calif., when the troubled actress was unresponsive earlier this month.

Fortunately, she was fine, just exhausted and dehydrated.

Just the same, a calm, collected 911 call made by "Ben," a nurse working on the production of her new film Liz & Dick, reveals the urgency at that moment:

"It's a Code 3," he said, emergency terminology for "life-threat response."

Per privacy laws, specific details regarding Lindsay Lohan's physical condition have been edited out of the recording above, but the caller told the 911 dispatcher that he and the unconscious actress were in the hotel penthouse.

She was and is fine, although Lifetime is concerned about its investment.

The self-aware actress later joked on Twitter that when you're "up all night shooting, you might pass out from exhaustion & 7 paramedics MIGHT show up @ your door. Hopefully theyre cute. Otherwise it would be a real let down."

Just pray there's not a legit Code 3 in the near future for Linds.

Bone marrow donors soon may be compensated

A mother with three daughters who have Fanconi anemia sued the federal government for the right to compensate bone marrow donors. The U.S. Attorney General will not pursue the case with the Supreme Court, thus making a lower court's ruling law. That means bone marrow donors may now receive vouchers worth up to $3,000. NBC's Dr. Nancy Snyderman reports.

By JoNel Aleccia

Certain bone marrow donors could soon be compensated for their life-saving stem cells after federal officials declined to take the matter to the U.S. Supreme Court, allowing a lower court order to become law.

At least one agency, MoreMarrowDonors.org, hopes to begin a pilot program offering up to $3,000 in scholarships, housing vouchers or charity donations -- but not cash -- in exchange for matching donations of marrow cells derived from blood.

?This decision is a total game-changer,? said Jeff Rowes, a senior attorney with the Institute for Justice, which filed the lawsuit three years ago on behalf of cancer victims and others seeking bone marrow matches. ?Any donor, any doctor, any patient across the country can use compensation in order to get bone marrow donors.?

That may be the effect of the decision by U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to forgo a high court review of a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that certain kinds of bone marrow donations are exempt from federal rules banning compensation.

Under the ruling, donors who provide marrow cells through a process similar to blood donation, called peripheral blood stem cell apheresis, can be compensated because those cells are no longer regarded as organs or organ parts as defined in the National Organ Transplant Act.

The ruling does not apply, however, to bone marrow obtained through traditional techniques that use a needle to aspirate the cells from the hip.

Although it applies only to nine states covered by the 9th Circuit Court, Rowes expects the effects to be felt nationwide.?

The move met with praise from Doreen Flynn, 36, of Lewiston, Maine, the lawsuit?s namesake and the single mother of three daughters with an incurable blood disorder called Fanconi anemia.

She and other plaintiffs had argued that incentives are the best way to broaden the pool of potential donors and to help ensure that those who are matched follow through with the process.

Woman challenges bone marrow donation law in effort to save daughters' lives

Flynn's oldest daughter, Jordan, 13, received a marrow transplant this spring while 7-year-old twins Jorja and Julia may need transplants in the future.

?I?m overwhelmed by the decision and I?m grateful to be part of this case,? said Flynn. ?With two kids who still need to go through transplants, this victory means hope for the future. With compensation, that means there is less chance that a potential donor will back out when called upon, which is a very real concern.?

But officials with the National Marrow Donor Program, which maintains a registry of 10 million donors, said they were disappointed that Holder didn?t take the matter to the Supreme Court and worried that the ruling would confuse donors about the issue of compensation.

?Our policy has always been to operate a registry of all volunteers,? said Michael Boo, chief strategy officer with the NMDP and Be the Match. ?We will not list donors that have been promised compensation.?

That policy is also adopted by the Health Resources and Services Administration, or HRSA, which regulates bone marrow transplants in the U.S.

Permitting compensated donors would limit the NMDP?s ability to cooperate with international registries in 35 countries, said David Bowman, a HRSA spokesman. About 40 percent of blood stem cell transplants facilitated by the program involve an international patient or donor, he added.

The NMDP also argues that compensation will limit treatment options, divert money from a wider range of patients and, perhaps, decrease the quality of donations. It could skew volunteers? motivations, perhaps encouraging them to be less than frank when answering the questions vital to ensuring a match, critics have said.?

About 10,000 people need bone marrow transplants each year, but only about half receive them, according to the NDMP. The Institute for Justice estimates that about 3,000 die waiting for matches, but NDMP officials say there's no way to know that for sure because many factors affect a patient's death, not just the availability of matching marrow.

Not being listed on the NMDP registry could prove to be a blow to donors hoping to reach the widest range of potential patients, of course.

Rowes acknowledged that compensation could not begin immediately and that many details remain to be worked out.

?I?m not saying that we may not have to fight with HRSA and the registry in the future,? Rowes said. ?But they are profoundly mistaken if they think they can use their authority as stewards of information that is the property of the American people to interfere with what the courts have said is the lawful use of that information. We?re not backing down.?

Mother of three Doreen Flynn has filed a lawsuit against the federal government over the National Organ Transplant Act of 1984 which makes it illegal to buy and sell organs, including bone marrow. NBC's Dr. Nancy Snyderman reports.

Forgiveness is Empowering | Jason Choi | Jason Choi

Posted on June 26th, 2012 by Jason in Articles

Would you believe me if I told you that forgiveness is empowering? ?Perhaps it may sound odd, but if you?re curious to know exactly how that is, then read on:

It?s often said that resentment is like taking poison and waiting for the other person to die. ?Or as Buddha once said, ?Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.?

Over the past 6 years that I spent learning new techniques, methods, teachings on self-improvement, I realize every problem we have is based on a desire for happiness from outside of ourselves.

It is, therefore, conditional happiness. This is the basis for a victim mindset where we blame and criticize others or circumstances.

Resentment is just another expression of such conditional happiness: ?I will be happy when I get revenge? or ?I will be happy when he pays me back the money he owes me?.

Even if what the other person did was wrong and justly deserves punishment, the desire to be justified is also a desire to seek happiness in an external condition. And the wrong thing may never actually be corrected, meaning it will compromise your happiness. ?(I am not however suggesting we allow people to step all over us)

So here is what I am suggesting:

If you are struggling to really forgive someone, then forgive them for your sake! Do it for yourself not for them! Do it so you would be happy.

So long as you hold onto resentment, you are hurting yourself since the painful event is over. It is literally not happening now. So if it?s not happening now, then by repeating the painful event in your mind, you are literally inflicting pain upon yourself, since it is your mind.

The person who abused you or cheated on your, or stole your money isn?t stealing your money this very moment. The event is already done and over with. ?So if it?s not happening now, then I encourage you to also forgive yourself for repeatedly entertaining such pain in your mind.

Keep in mind that forgiveness doesn?t suggest that you condone whatever painful thing was inflicted upon you and it has nothing to do with admitting defeat or being stepped on. ?It is about giving yourself mastery over your mind and so that you can experience happiness now. Therefore, forgiveness is ultimately about empowerment!

When you think about the painful event, do you see that you are the director of your ?story? or ?movie? (i.e. the pictures/sounds in your head that you use to torment yourself with)? Not only are you the actor or actress, you are the director. ?This means you have the power to turn off the movie or reshape the movie, or keep entertaining the movie if you so desire.

And I believe that is why Jesus says to forgive and to love our enemies, because he knew forgiveness is all about our happiness. He knew that by loving our enemies we are loving ourselves, since the way we internally represent our enemies in our minds is fully our responsibility.

Again if the painful event is over then the only reason you experience pain is due to unconsciously rewatching the painful event. I say this not to blame you but so that you become aware of what you are doing so that you can stop it. You have the power to change the movie.

With this new awareness, can you now forgive them for your sake? Or can you forgive yourself for inflicting pain upon yourself?

We have a tendency to encourage others when they go through pain, yet we beat ourselves up. So what would happen if you encouraged yourself by forgiving yourself?

What difference would that make?

What you?ll discover is that as you genuinely forgive yourself and make peace in your mind, you will notice you?ve forgiven the offender :)

First Fukushima seafood sold since nuke crisis

The first seafood caught off Japan's Fukushima coastline since last year's nuclear disaster went on sale Monday, but the offerings were limited to octopus and marine snails because of persisting fears about radiation.

Octopus and whelk, a kind of marine snail, were chosen for the initial shipments because testing for radioactive cesium consistently measured no detectable amounts, according to the Fukushima Prefectural (state) fishing cooperative. They were caught Friday and boiled so they last longer while being tested for radiation before they could be sold Monday.

Flounder, sea bass and other fish from Fukushima can't be sold yet because of contamination. It was unclear when they will be approved for sale as they measure above the limit in radiation set by the government. The government is testing for radioactive iodine as well, but its half-life is shorter than cesium and thus is less worrisome.

"It was crisp when I bit into it, and it tasted so good," said Yasuhiro Yoshida, who oversees the seafood section at York Benimaru supermarket in Soma, which sold out of about 30 kilograms (65 pounds) of the snails and 40 kilograms (90 pounds) of the octopus that had been shipped to the store.

Japan: Fukushima nuclear pool not unstable

The March 11 earthquake and tsunami last year left the coastlines of northeastern Japan devastated, and displaced tens of thousands of people. Entire towns were contaminated by the radiation leaking from Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant, where three reactors went into meltdowns.

"I was filled with both uncertainty and hope today, but I was so happy when I found out the local supermarket had sold out by 3 p.m.," said Hirofumi Konno, an official in charge of sales at the fishing cooperative in Soma city in coastal Fukushima.

PhotoBlog: 36 views of the Fukushima exclusion zone

He said he hoped crabs would be next to go on sale as radiation had not been detected in them, but he acknowledged things will take time, perhaps years, especially for other kinds of fish. Radiation amounts have been decreasing, but cesium lasts years.

The octopus and snail were selling at almost half of what they fetched before the disaster, he said. But he said people were buying Fukushima seafood to show support for local fishermen. The items were available locally but not in the whole prefecture or the Tokyo area.

Nobuyuki Yagi, a University of Tokyo professor studying the fisheries industry after the disaster, said serious concerns remain over whether anyone would buy Fukushima fish, and the key lay in finding the types of fish that don't store radioactive elements.

"Fishing cannot survive unless people buy the fish. That may seem obvious, but Fukushima is facing up to this," he said in a statement earlier this month.

Japan to lift entry ban on nuclear no-go zones

Farmlands have also been contaminated, and every grain of rice will be tested at harvest in some areas before they can be sold. The image of Fukushima produce has been seriously tarnished, and worried consumers, especially those with children, are shunning Fukushima-grown food.

"We are in for the long haul," Konno said in a telephone interview.

Unlocking AT&T iphone 4s

Hello,

I have an AT&T iPhone 4s. I am going to be in London and Russia for the next 2 months, and so wanted to unlock the phone so as to be able to use UK and Russian SIM cards.

I first thought I needed to jailbreak it (per the article on Gizmodo in April about unlocking the 4s), but searching thru the forum, it seems that jailbreaking and unlocking can be independent.

Do I need to jailbreak the phone to unlock it? What are the best and easiest ways to unlock the 4s?

Any solutions that would be free and/or minimize information sharing with third parties would be particularly valued.

Galen Rupp romps in rain, punches ticket to London in 10,000 meters at Olympic trials

EUGENE, Ore. ? Galen Rupp grew up in Oregon, so when he sees rain falling the way it did on the first day of Olympic trials, he sees an opportunity, not a roadblock.

No wonder, then, that with rain pounding the track, Rupp was at his best. Running the 10,000 meters in a downpour Friday, Rupp still set a trials record, finishing in 27 minutes, 25.33 seconds.

Next, he'll be off to another place where they know a little about rainy days ? London ? for a trip to his second Olympics.

"I wasn't worried about it at all," said Rupp, who often has to wear a mask when he runs to keep his allergies from acting up. "I'm from Oregon. I love running in this weather. It's good for my allergies. I was excited to see it was really raining."

His was the most impressive performance on opening day in rainy Eugene, save possibly for the effort decathlete Ashton Eaton put in. With Bruce Jenner watching from the stands, Eaton made it through the first five events on pace to break a 20-year-old American record held by Dan O'Brien.

Later, in the women's 10K, Amy Hastings won in 31 minutes, 58.36 seconds to get the Olympic spot denied her when she finished fourth by 1:11 at the marathon trials earlier this year in Houston.

"Coming across the finish line today, it was night and day different," Hastings said. "It was heartbreaking in Houston. I can't even believe it right now."

While the long-distance runners and decathletes were grinding, the sprinters used Day 1 to warm up ? not a bad idea considering the wet chill that gripped Hayward Field all day long, leaving puddles on the track and turning parts of the infield mushy.

Sanya Richards-Ross, LaShawn Merritt, Allyson Felix and Carmelita Jeter all made it through their opening heats with minimal problems.

"Other than it messing up my hair, it's OK," Richards-Ross said after running her first 400-meter qualifier in 51.69 seconds.

Merritt, the defending Olympic champion at 400 meters, took to the rain-slickened track, sidestepped a runner who slipped and fell in the lane next to him and finished in 45.36 seconds, the best time in the men's heats.

"I saw him and I had to do a little step more toward the inside of my lane, where I should've been in the first place," Merritt said.

Jeremy Wariner, the 2004 Olympic champion, also advanced to the semifinals, though his race wasn't quite such a breeze. He finished third in his heat in a time of 45.84.

"Just clearing the cobwebs out," Wariner said. "I worked my turn pretty well. I saved a lot for the homestretch."

David Neville, the 2008 Olympic bronze medalist, finished last in his heat and won't go to London unless he is chosen for the relay team.

The 400 runners have semifinals Saturday, with finals scheduled for Sunday.

In the women's 100, Felix and Jeter each won their heats easily.

"It was OK. Just wanted to make it safely to the next round," said Felix, who is using the 100 to stay sharp for her main event, the 200. "I feel like tomorrow will be better. Always good to get that first one out of the way."

In the women's 100 hurdles, Dawn Harper, the defending Olympic champion, won her heat in 12.79 seconds ? a victory she earned even though she didn't have the ideal, track-grabbing spikes in her shoes.

"I actually change spikes" when it rains, she said. "Usually, the pointier ones grab the track. It was on my mind out there because I had the older ones in."

Lolo Jones also qualified but not by much. She finished third in her heat for the last automatic qualifying spot after running 13.01. Her race was delayed when Shericka Ward false started.

"I felt really good, but it was a bad race," Jones said. "After the false start, I just relaxed a little bit too much."

Meet organizers scrubbed women's pole vault preliminaries, meaning all 29 athletes, including 2008 Olympic silver medalist Jenn Suhr, will move to finals Sunday.

In the decathlon, Eaton was ahead of a world-record pace for two events. His shot put throw of 46 feet, 7 3/4 inches slowed him down, but he still ended the day with 4,728 points ? 322 ahead of Trey Hardee and 17 ahead of the pace O'Brien was on when he set the American record in 1992.

"This is the culmination of a lot of hard work my team has put in," Eaton said.

Eaton, an Oregon native, also closed the day by running in the pouring rain, finishing the 400 meters in 46.70 seconds. He looked very much at home.

As did Rupp, who will be joined on the 10K team by Matt Tegenkamp (27:33.94) and Dathan Ritzenhein (27:36.09).

After many months filled with injuries and the heartbreak of missing the marathon team by 8 seconds, Ritzenhein needed to beat the 'A' standard of 27:45 to qualify in the 10K. He did and made his third Olympics.

"It's been a rough road," he said. "The last few years have been very difficult, for sure."

So while he celebrates a spot in the Olympics, most of the rest were simply glad to still be in the hunt ? advancing on a slip-and-slide kind of day, knowing that under U.S. rules, the top three qualify ? no excuses or second chances, no matter the conditions.

"You have to adapt to what the weather is, how the track is," Merritt said. "Know what you're doing before you get out there. You know the weather, the wind, and the track is slippery. It's all about going in with a plan and executing."

Jessica Simpson Takes Cleavage, New Baby For a Walk

We already know that it took a full-term pregnancy to tear Jessica Simpson away from her beloved towering stilettos, so we couldn't help but wonder if motherhood would cause the bombshell to cool it on her oft-showcased cleavage. But in one twit pic, Simpson managed to let us know that she has no intention of going the conservative mother route.

Although the media has been scrutinizing her post-baby body, the new mom tweeted a picture of herself taking daughter Maxwell for a spin around the block on Friday. Jessica must have been feeling particularly confident in her gym clothes and shades that day, because she had no problem showing off a very, er, generous amount of cleavage.

Even Jess herself wasn't so sure if showing that much skin was appropriate, asking her followers if the look was "street legal." So what's the verdict: acceptable bust or cleavage overload?

Check out the photo below and tell us if you think Jessica Simpson's look is mom-approved.

World stocks fall amid U.S. jobs, housing gloom

BANGKOK (AP) ? World stock markets fell Friday as gloomy economic reports from the world's two biggest economies heightened fears of a sharper global downturn. In Europe, leaders were set to weigh options for fixing the continent's debt crisis.

The leaders of Germany, France, Italy and Spain are gathering in Rome on Friday to try to hammer out proposals for easing the widening financial crisis spreading across the 17-member euro currency union.

Concrete proposals will be brought to a wider gathering of EU leaders on June 28 and 29.

European stocks dropped in early trading, mirroring losses in Asia. Britain's FTSE 100 lost 0.9 percent at 5,516.30. Germany's DAX fell 1 percent to 6,277.90 and France's CAC-40 slipped 0.8 percent to 3,089.24.

But Wall Street appeared headed for a higher opening, a day after the Dow sustained its second-worst loss of the year. Dow Jones industrial futures rose 0.4 percent to 12,546 and S&P 500 futures added 0.4 percent to 1,323.50.

Japan's Nikkei 225 index fell 0.3 percent to close at 8,798.35 and South Korea's Kospi slid 2.2 percent to 1,847.39. Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 1.4 percent to 18,995.13 and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 was down 1 percent at 4,048.20.

Benchmarks in Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia fell while the Philippines rose. Markets in mainland China were closed for a public holiday.

On Thursday, the U.S. Labor Department reported that the four-week average of applications for unemployment benefits jumped to the highest level in nine months. Meanwhile, sales of previously owned homes fell 1.5 percent in May.

A further sign of weakness in the world's No. 1 economy came from the Philadelphia branch of the Federal Reserve, which issued a report showing that manufacturing in the northeast had experienced a sharp decrease due to a steep fall in company orders.

Appetite for financial assets such as stocks was also dented by the results of a monthly HSBC survey, which showed that manufacturing in China has continued to contract. China's growth has been a pillar of the global economy in recent years, so its slowdown has been of particular concern to investors.

"With signs of weakness in the US economy, the persistence of the eurozone debt crisis and the threat of a hardlanding in China looming, the prospect of a synchronized economic slowdown is real," analysts at DBS Bank Ltd. in Singapore said in a market commentary.

Sentiment was also shaken after Moody's Investors Service lowered the credit ratings of 15 major banks, including Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs, saying their long-term prospects for profitability and growth are shrinking.

Downgrades generally make it more costly for banks to raise money by selling debt because investors demand higher interest in return for taking on riskier debt.

"Of course, they deserve it for years of mismanagement and speculative trading activities ... and also the exposure to sovereign bank debt," said Francis Lun, managing director of Lyncean Holdings in Hong Kong. "So, as a result, all these major international banks are being downgraded to a more realistic level."

Asian financial shares sputtered after the ratings slap. South Korea's Shinhan Financial Group Co. tumbled 3 percent while Australia & New Zealand Banking Group lost 1.4 percent. Hong Kong-listed Industrial & Commercial Bank of China, the world's biggest bank by market value, fell 1.2 percent.

Falling commodities prices hurt mining and raw materials shares in Australia. BHP Billiton, the world's largest mining company, fell 2.1 percent. Newcrest Mining Ltd. dropped 3 percent. Hong Kong-listed Jiangxi Copper Co. fell 2 percent.

Benchmark oil for August delivery was up 10 cents to $78.31 per barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract fell $3.25, or 4 percent, to settle at $78.20 per barrel in New York on Thursday.

In currency trading, the euro fell slightly to $1.2556 from $1.2558 late Thursday in New York. The dollar rose to 80.33 yen from 80.29 yen.

/R E P E A T - Ham Radio All Talk in Times of Crisis/

TORONTO, June 14, 2012 /CNW/ - Despite the prevalence of the Internet,
Amateur Radio has never failed as a lifeline during times of crisis. To
demonstrate this capability, the Central Toronto Amateur Radio Club
(aka CenTor) is conducting an Amateur Radio emergency preparedness
exercise on June 23 - 24, 2012, which will be open to the public.

Often called "ham radio", Amateur Radio is a non-commercial radio
service, which allows licensed operators to use various types of radio
communications equipment to communicate with one another, both locally
and around the globe, for both public service and recreational
purposes.? Amateur Radio operators, often referred to as "hams", are
federally licensed by Industry Canada and are allowed to use specially
allocated radio frequencies to carry out their operations. Hams come
from all walks of life and are located all over the world.

"Amateur Radio plays a very important role in the communications
capabilities of our modern society", said Peter Dale, President,
CenTor, and licensed Amateur Radio operator with the call sign of
VE3EYI. "Not only does it facilitate communications during times of
emergency or natural disaster, it is also a lot of fun and a great way
to learn about electronics and wireless communications, especially for
young people", Dale added.

The emergency preparedness exercise being put on by CenTor will be part
of an annual event called "Field Day". During this event, hams all over
North America will be setting-up emergency stations in public places
and communicating with one another over a 24-hour period for points as
part of a large North American emergency preparedness contest.

Anyone interested in learning about Amateur Radio and its capabilities
is encouraged to attend.

Classic Treat Free Article Directory ? How Quadratic Equation ...

In mathematics there is several types of the equations that is comes into the topic of algebra and in these equations there is quadratic equation that is used in several types of problem solving strategies. When we talk about the quadratic equation it is define as the polynomial that have the degree of the variable equals to 2 or it is called as the second degree polynomial .We can define the second degree polynomial through an expression as p a?2 + q a + r = 0 but only one thing should be noted that constant p will not be equal to zero. Here in the above equation p , q and r are constants terms and this expression is equal to zero.

There?are several examples that define the second degree polynomial and these are defining as follows:

Example (1): x2 + 4 x + 4

Example (2):?a2 + 14 a + 48

We are using the different variables in the different equations will no matter in the equation solving. There is a online tool that helps in calculation of the variables defined in the quadratic equations that is known as the?quadratic equation calculator and it is a tool that that having a text box in which equation is entered by the user and this tool automatically calculate the values of the variable that is define in the equation.

As there is defined in the above section that in the?quadratic equation calculator it have some text boxes that have different values as If there is a quadratic equation as a x2 + b x + c then in the?quadratic equation calculator we have to enter the value of variables as a, b and c and also enter the values of discriminant. Then we have to enter the solve button to solve the entered equation.

Quadratic equation calculator?calculates the answer very efficiently and also very fast.

To understand the functioning of the quadratic equation calculator we have to understand the example as follows:

Example (1): If there is one equation is 3 a2 + a ? 2 = 0 then we can find the answer by factorization method as in the above equation 6 a will factorize as 3 a * 2 a and there difference is equals to a that is the perfect factorization for the above defined equation and it is expressed as?3 a2 + 3 a ? 2 a ? 2 = 0

and then find the common terms in the above expression as 3 a ( a + 1) ? 2 ( a + 1) = 0.

Than (3a ? 2) (a + 1) = 0 and at last the value of the variable is

3 a ? 2 = 0 or a + 1 = 0

3 a = 2 or a = ? 1

a = 2 / 3 or a = -1 (answer).

There is also one another way to find the answer that is define as if the equation is?a x2 + b x + c then

x = (- b + or -???b2 ? 4 a c) / 2 a.

Tiny human liver grown inside mouse's head

It may be small, but is it perfectly formed? A tiny human liver, just 5 millimetres in size, has been grown inside a mouse. It remains to be seen whether the organ can replicate all liver functions ? and if it will be possible to scale up the tiny structure to useable dimensions.

Hideki Taniguchi and Takanori Takebe at Yokohama City University generated induced pluripotent stem cells from human skin cellsMovie Camera, then encouraged them to develop into liver precursor cells. They added two more types of cell ? mesenchymal cells, and endothelial cells from umbilical cord blood vessels. Without the aid of any underlying scaffold, the cells "guided themselves" and generated a microstructure almost identical to normal liver tissue, says Takebe.

"We mixed and graded the cells onto the culture dish and they moved to form a cluster," he says. "It was a surprising outcome from what was, to be honest, an accident."

The structure was then transplanted inside the skull of severe combined immunodeficiency mice, which would not mount an immune response to the tissue. Transplanting the structure here allowed the researchers to make use of the increased blood flow to the brain to encourage growth of the new tissue.

Within just 48 hours, human blood vessels began to form within the tiny liver, along with human proteins. Levels of glycogen and amino acids in the tissue were also the same as those found in human liver.

Obstacles

"It's not yet a perfect liver," says Takebe. "Improvements need to be made, such as the reconstruction of a bile duct." Other big obstacles yet to be overcome include finding a way to scale up the resulting organ, he adds.

The research team presented their research findings at the International Society for Stem Cell Research annual meeting in Yokohama, Japan, last week, but have yet to publish the work in a peer-reviewed journal.

Yoichi Tagawa at the Tokyo Institute of Technology says that only when the data are received and scrutinised by liver experts will the true value of the research be known. "Hepatologists have a deep interest in real regenerative medicine that can be applied clinically, so they may evaluate [the research] very strictly," he says.

George Q Daley, the director of the stem cell transplantation programme at Children's Hospital Boston, Massachusetts, agrees that questions remain to be answered. "These data encourage us to believe that engineered organoids may one day provide replacement organs," he says. More work remains to be done, though. "The absence of formation of bile ducts is curious, and would need to occur for true liver function."
